Under paid and not enough training

Working as a customer care rep was stressful, we never had clear and permanent duties. They’ve always been understaffed so if they need a report/ assignment done they’ll pick someone to do it with little to no training at all and expect you to get it done. No one seems to know what they’re doing, whether you call the stores, another customer service department or online sales.
Not to mention the customers, It wouldn’t be as bad if the calls weren’t always about a customer getting screwed over. Cancelled deliveries, un wanted reschedules, items customers paid for going discontinued, and they push customers to do partial deliveries only to be told half of their sectional or bed is not in stock and no you can’t return, you have to wait until the other piece is in stock in about 3 months.
There is no customer service, only “save the sale” “did they purchase with a cash, card or finance“....they try a little harder to please the ones that pay cash or card, also depends on how much you spend. Basically you don’t matter as much if you spent less than 1,500.
In all, it’s not worth it. We were under appreciated, under staffed, don’t receive proper training, and management will also throw you under the bus to save themselves.

Do you possess a professional presentation, excellent phone skills and the ability to multi-task efficiently? Are you detail-oriented, able to type a minimum of 35 wpm, and possess working knowledge of common Microsoft computer programs? Would you enjoy a social, upbeat, and fun work environment?

• Service customers with questions or concerns regarding their purchase.
• Accurately record customer reports into the customer service module so there is an electronic record of all communication from the customer and the follow through discussed.
• Order and track parts until customer concern is resolved.
• Multi task on the telephone and computer through out the day. Handling 75-150 calls per day.
• Previous experience in customer service, providing an empathetic tone of voice and maintaining a professional, positive attitude at all times.
• Must be ready, willing and able to work day, weekends and holidays without any scheduling restrictions. Flexibility to work any and all shifts is required. ( rotating Saturday, closed Sunday)
• Must have exceptional verbal communication skills and demonstrate a high level of professionalism and common courtesy both in electronic format and on the telephone.
• Must be familiar with Windows computer programs & able to accurately type a minimum of 35 wpm, while communicating to a customer on the telephone.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work effectively as part of a growing team, working together towards common goals.
• Prior retail, hospitality and/or call center experience a plus
