Details

Walkthrough

Talk to Jorral in the outpost just north-west of WestArdougne. It is directly south of the Tree Gnome Stronghold. In order to save the outpost from King Lathas, the player will need to talk to Erin the silver merchant, Droalak the ghost, and Dron the warrior. They can be visited in any order, and the player does not need to visit Jorral until meeting all the characters. Before all of this, Jorral takes you into a cutscene.

Note: If the door is open when talking to Jorral, occasionally an aggressive hobgoblin can attack you during the cutscene, which will cancel the dialogue afterwards and force you to watch the cutscene over again.

Erin the silver merchant

Items required:Spade.

Go to EastArdougne, and talk to Erin, the Silver Merchant who works on the silver stall at the market. He will give the player a key. It is used to find a buried chest. The closer the player is to the chest, the warmer the key. There are six temperatures: freezing, very cold, warm, very hot, burning hot, and steaming hot. When the key is steaming hot, the player is on the right spot and will need to use the spade to recover the chest. The key will also tell the player whether it is hotter or colder since its last use.

Players may now teleport to Castle Wars using the ring of dueling. The key should lead the player to an area south of the observatory near the river, north of Castle Wars. The area to dig is on white flowers. Click the spade when the key is steaming hot. Use the Enchanted key on the chest to open it to get a journal, and read it to learn about a Zamorakian that used to live in the outpost who played pranks on the people of Ardougne.

The Enchanted key cannot be used to find additional treasure until this quest is complete. If the player uses the key, he or she gets the message, "You have already found the chest" (if not opened to get the journal yet) or, "You have already found the journal". If the player has already given the journal to Jorral, the message is, "You've already delivered the journal."

Droalak the ghost

Items required:Ghostspeak amulet, Sapphire amulet (strung) and if the player has not completed Ghosts Ahoy, see above.

Travel to Port Phasmatys (if Ghosts Ahoy has not been completed, pay two ecto-tokens to the town guards or alternatively you can charter a boat to Port Phasmatys). Once inside, go to the general store and talk to Droalak. If he is not in the general store, he is wandering just outside of the general store. He will give the player a scroll if he or she gives his wife, Melina, a strung sapphire amulet. Speak to Droalak again to let him know you have the amulet. Melina is in the building east of the general store. After giving her the amulet, the player must go back to Droalak to receive the scroll.

Dron the warrior

Go to Rellekka. East of the Longhall, talk to Dron's brother, Blanin (He can be found near the Dairy churn in Rellekka). Go north of the Skulgrimen's shop, and speak to Dron. He can be found close to the northernmost dock. He will quiz the player on the information that Blanin gave them. Dron will ask various questions; these are the answers (in the order used):

  • He wields an iron mace in battle.
  • He eats rats for breakfast.
  • He eats kittens for lunch.
  • He eats bunnies for tea.
  • His favourite drink is red spider blood.
  • He is 36 years, 8 months (21 days) old.
  • He studies the Fifth and Fourth ages.
  • His house is on the northeast side of town.
  • His brother's name is Blanin.
  • His pet cat is named Fluffy.
  • 5 and 7 is 12

To get through the conversation quick, here are the numbers you can press (for the whole conversation): 3, 2, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2, 2, 1, 3, 3, 1, 1, 1.

After answering the questions, Dron will tell the player a story about two friends.

Back to Jorral

Give everything to Jorral. He'll give the player a letter to take to the king of East Ardougne. King Lathas can be found upstairs in his castle in central Ardougne just across the river. He will give back a letter to take to Jorral, in which he promises not to tear down the outpost. After taking it to Jorral, Jorral will make a museum out of the outpost.

Congratulations! Quest complete!

Rewards

Trivia

  • If you visit Droalak after the quest, the player's character will tell him that they have delivered the scroll and it was of good use. Droalak finally rests in peace.
  • When the quest is completed, Jorral will tell you there is something that may interest you in his museum. If you search the bookcase and choose the book titled 'The Mysterious Adventurer', it will be a book written about your character, telling you stories of some of your completed quests.
  • Jorral's quote "Do you want to know more?" at the beginning of the quest is a reference to a repeated line in the film Starship Troopers.

A secluded outpost has served the City of Ardougne for generations, playing stage to many exceptional events. Its current occupant wants to employ your skills to construct its true history before time runs out and history itself is wiped away!

Part 1:
The Outpost

Step 1
Talk to Jorral, NW of Ardougne.

To start the quest, teleport to Ardougne (or your house if you have an Ardougne Portal) and walk along the outside of the walls of West Ardougne. Keep walking until you find Jorral.

Talk to Jorral, and he will tell you about the history of the building he lives in. He doesn't know what the history of the building is, and asks for your help. Your job is to uncover the history of the building, and convince King Lathas to leave it alone. Zybez RuneScape Help's Screenshot of Talking to Jorral You will now see a cut-scene. Jorral wishes to turn the outpost into a museum, as a monument to the area's history. Pick the first option in the next screen. He will tell you about three people who would be able to help you: the silver merchant in Ardougne, a ghost in Port Phasmatys, and a warrior in Rellekka.

Part 2:
Uncovering History

Step 3
Talk to the Silver Merchant, Ardougne Square.
Use your enchanted key to find a chest north of Castle Wars.

Items Needed: Spade.

Go to the Silver Merchant in Ardougne square and talk to him. Ask him about the outpost, and you will tell him about doing some research for Jorral (Picture). He will give you an enchanted key, and tell you that it might fit a chest.

If you brought a Ring of Dueling, teleport to Castle Wars, otherwise make the long trek south from Ardougne. Head to the bridge north of the Castle Wars entrance. When you reach the correct area, feel your key. If it is "Very Hot" or "Burning Hot," the treasure is close by. Walk around and feel your key, until it becomes "Steaming." Dig with your spade and you will find a chest (Picture). Use your enchanted key on the chest, and take the journal inside. Keep the journal with you until the end of the quest.

Step 4
Talk to Droalak, at Port Phasmatys
Talk to Melina, in house west of the furnace. Give her Sapphire amulet.

Zybez RuneScape Help's Image of DroalakItems needed: Sapphire Amulet, Ghostspeak Amulet.

Go to Port Phasmatys next (use your Ectophial to teleport to the Ectofuntus, and walk to Port Phasmatys from there). Once you arrive, walk south of the entrance to the General Store (Picture). You will see Droalak there. Talk to him, and you will ask about the outpost north of Ardougne. He says he has a scroll that outlines the timeline of the outpost, but asks you to tie up a problem before he gives it to you. (Picture)

Go to the house west of the furnace, and talk to Melina (Picture). You will automatically give her the sapphire amulet, and she will be delighted (Picture). Go back to Droalak and tell him Melina forgave him. He will happily give you the scroll. Hold on to the scroll, as well as the journal (Picture).

Step 5
Talk to Blanin, in eastern Rellekka.
Talk to Dron, north of Battle Gear shop.
Do not say you talked to Blanin.

Your final destination is Rellekka. You can teleport here with an enchated Lyre, or teleport to Camelot and walk north. You must speak to a Fremennik by the name of Blanin (Picture), who is found on the eastern side of the province. He will blab on about how secretive his brother Dron is, and gives you the answers to a few questions that Dron will ask you:

  1. He wields an iron mace in battle.
  2. He eats rats for breakfast.
  3. He eats kittens for lunch.
  4. He eats bunnies for tea.
  5. His favourite drink is red spider blood.
  6. He is 36 years, 8 months, and 21 days old.
  7. He studies famous battles of the Forth and Fifth ages.
  8. He lives on the north-east side of the town.
  9. His brother's name is Blanin.
  10. He has a pet cat named Fluffy.
  11. Five plus seven is twelve.

Speak to Dron who is just north of Skulgrimen's Battle Gear. Do not tell him you spoke with his brother; tell him "Why, you're the famous warrior Dron!" He will ask you a variety of questions, and all you have to do is answer according to those listed above. If you answer all the questions correctly, he will answer any questions you have for him (Picture). Upon hearing your question, he tells you of a battle that took place at the outpost many years ago. He says two best friends became divided when one went to Zamorak and one went to Saradomin. They eventually came together under Guthix; one of whom decided to become King of Ardougne - King Lathas' great grandfather.

Part 3:
Convincing the King

Step 6
Talk to Jorral, at Outpost.
Talk to King Lathas.
Return to Jorral to complete quest.

Report to Jorral (you can teleport to Ardougne, or walk) and tell him what you learned. He will put the information together and tell you a story the true history of the outpost.

He will then write down the details you gave him, and make it easier to understand. Your job is to deliver a letter to the King of Ardougne.

Head to the Ardougne Castle and talk to King Lathas. He is astonished at how much value the outpost has (Picture). He will agree to Jorral's request to convert it into a museum, and give you a letter to take back to Jorral.

Return to Jorral and talk to him. He will be very thankful for your help. After your conversation, the outpost will turn into a museum. If you want, you can go back to see Droalak and he'll finally move on to the next world, however that is not necessary to complete the quest.

Q: What do I use the Enchanted Key for?

A: Talk to the Silver Merchant and he will tell you about treasure buried in random places around RuneScape. Walk around until the key feels hot, and dig on the spot for a reward. See our Treasure Hunting guide for help.

The Silver Merchant

Talk to Erin, the Silver merchant, in East Ardougne. You will find him at the northwestern stall in the central market. Erin will tell you about his great grandfather, and that he has an Enchanted key. Ask him if you can borrow it and he will agree. The key changes temperature as you walk.

It&#;s later learned they both stand down, after observing the destruction of the battle, choosing the side of Guthix. After that one of them becomes King of Ardougne, and the other runs the marketplace.

Give everything to Jorral. He&#;ll give you a letter to take to the king of East Ardougne. King Lathas can be found upstairs in his castle in central Ardougne just across the river. He will give back a letter to take to Jorral, in which he promises not to tear down the outpost. After taking it to Jorral, Jorral will make a museum out of the outpost.

OSRS Making History Quest Guide

Making History is a fun quest that rewards 3 Quest points. The quest is extremely short if you have the correct teleportation methods. Additionally, you will not have to fight any enemies. That makes it the perfect quest to sit back and relax with - on desktop or Old School RuneScape mobile!

Requirements

You must have completed Priest in Peril to start Making History. Additionally, you need a Ghostspeak amulet - which means you must complete at least some of Restless Ghost. It is also recommended to have completed Ghosts Ahoy, which gains you an Ectophial and Port Phasmatys entry. Having completed Ghosts Ahoy allows you to complete this quest significantly faster.

In terms of items that you need for this quest, as there’s no combat, using Graceful gear is recommended. Stamina potions can also help you move around faster. Ensure you have the following:

● Ghostspeak amulet, alternatively, Morytania legs 2/3/4 also have the same effect.

● A spade.

● Sapphire amulet, in strung form.

● Ectophial -  alternatively 1, osrs gold to charter a ship to Port Phasmatys. It is not worth getting the ecto-tokens purely for this quest, as it is a time-consuming process.

● It is recommended to have a Necklace of Passage (with at least 3 charges).

● Ardougne teleport tablets (2+).

● Another recommended item is the Ring of Dueling.

● Enchanted lyre to teleport to Rellekka, or use fairy rings. The Enchanted lyre requires completion of The Fremennik Trials, and fairy rings require partial completion of Fairy Tale II.

Walkthrough

To start with, you need to talk to Jorral, who is located at the Outpost. The Outpost is located north-west of Ardougne. To reach there, use the Necklace of Passage to get there directly, or use an Ardougne teleport. Press the first dialogue option twice, and from there, you can proceed to the next steps.

Use an Ardougne teleport and talk to the Silver merchant in the East Ardougne market. Use your ring of dueling, and head to Castle Wars. There’s a buried chest, northeast of the bridge. After digging it up, open and search the chest using the enchanted key to receive the journal.

After this, you can deposit the spade back into the bank at Castle Wars. It will be weighing you down despite you no longer needing it.

Next, head to Rellekka. You need to speak to Blanin, he is located east of the long hall. Rellekka is quite a remote location, if you’ve completed The Fremennik Trials, use the Enchanted Lyre. If you have access to fairy rings, use code AJR and head east to the town. If you have no other option, you can use a games necklace towards the Barbarian Outpost and run to Rellekka, but it will be quite the marathon.

After having spoken to Blanin, head north and speak to Dron. Dron will want to quiz you, fortunately, the answers are listed below:

1. Iron mace

2. Rats

3. Kittens

4. Bunnies

5. Red spider blood

6. 36 years, 8 months (21 days)

7. Fifth and Fourth

8. Northeast side

9. Blanin, after all, you did just talk to him!

Fluffy

12

Penultimately, you will need to speak to Droalak the Ghost. You will now need to wear your Ghostspeak amulet or Morytania legs. Use your Ectophial here to head to Port Phasmatys, ensure to wait a few seconds for your Ectophial to refill itself.

Haven’t completed Ghosts Ahoy and having trouble reaching Port Phasmatys? If you have two ecto-tokens, use the fairy ring code ALQ. Otherwise, head to Port Sarim using an Amulet of Glory. Pay 1, gold to charter a ship to Port Phasmatys from Port Sarim.

Speak to Droalak outside the general store. Head towards the building east of you, and provide Melina with the sapphire amulet (strung). You now need to speak to Droalak once more.

After having done all this - you’re now essentially at the end! All you must do now is report back to Jorral, at the Outpost (use necklace of passage). Provide him with the scroll and journal: and he’ll direct you towards King Lathas. Use an Ardougne teleport, head to the palace, and go upstairs. Speak to King Lathas, and report back to Jorral at the Outpost. After having done this, you’ve completed the quest - congratulations!

Rewards

You will receive 3 quest points, which is certainly worth it for such a short quest, providing you had the teleports. Certain quests in the game such as Dragon Slayer 2 will mandate that you have + quest points! You will also gain a significant 1, Crafting/Prayer experience and will be rewarded with coins. You also now gain access to the museum in the Outpost and are now able to progress some master clue scrolls that you couldn’t previously.

After having completed Making History, you will also be able to complete Song of the Elves. The Enchanted Key is also a very important item - as it unlocks a miniquest that allows you to continue locating treasure throughout the universe of Old School RuneScape.

Best of luck in your questing journey!
