The T5’s Lithium-ion battery is rechargeable and replaceable and offers 20 to 40 hours of battery life.
You will know if your dog is pointing, sitting, moving or treeing. Where your dog is. Where it’s been. How fast he’s moving and how far he’s gone.
The receiver’s ability to track additional satellites using the GLONASS system helps locate the dog’s position more quickly and maintains GPS location even in heavy tree cover or deep canyons.

Please note that Astro 320 handheld users will require a software update to use the T5 GPS collar. Click here to learn how to update your software for free.

The T-5 relays the dog's position to the handler's Astro 430 with location updates as often as every 2.5 seconds. You can track up to 10 dogs on a single system. Add additional T5s as needed.

The T5 is a GPS TRACKING collar only -- no remote dog training collar features. The T5 can be used alongside DC-20, DC-30, DC-40, and DC-50 tracking collars. The T5 is also compatible with the Alpha 100 and PRO 550+ (tracking only). The T5 is NOT compatible with the Astro 220 handheld.

The Astro/T5 Combo comes standard with an orange collar strap. Additional collars come from the factory with a blue strap. We give you the option of 10 different strap colors: Orange, Black, Blue, Green, Red, Yellow, White, Silver, Pink, or Violet so you can easily keep up with different dogs!

AKC Competition Approved

The AKC Performance Events Department has approved the Garmin T5 collar for use in pointing breed field trials and hunting tests.

Beacon Lights

Integrated Beacon Lights give your dog added visibility in low-light conditions.

Orange Top Mounted High-Sensitivity GPS/GLONASS Receiver

The T5 features an orange GPS/GLONASS receiver to make it easy to differentiate T5 collars from other models. The GPS/GLONASS receiver antenna is on top of the dog's neck like on the old DC-30 but without the horrible nylon collar strap. Get better, faster GPS tracking with increased sensitivity.

Quick-Charge Li-ion Batteries

The T5 collar features a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that gives a 24-48 hour run time depending on selected update rate. Charge time is 4 hours. The built-in battery life indicator lets you know when you need to recharge your collar.

Waterproof

The T5 Astro GPS Collar is waterproof to 1 ATM (10 meters)

Collar Battery Run Time Chart

  • ~24 hours with 2.5 second update rate
  • ~34 hours with 5 second update rate
  • ~38.5 hours with 10 second update rate
  • ~42.5 hours with 30 second update rate
  • ~48 hours with 120 second update rate
It's really tricky to give exact run times on the Garmin Astro T5 because there are so many variables. Collar battery run time is most affected by update rate and whether or not you use the Beacon Lights.

One Piece Charging Cradle

The T5 has a charging clip just like the DC 40 and the TT 10, but unlike these two other collars, the clip is part of the cord and not a separate piece. One less thing to lose!

Collar VHF Antenna: Tough Braided-Steel

These whip antennas take all the abuse a hunting dog can give it in the rough terrain where you hunt. The T5 comes with a VHF antenna made from BRAIDED STEEL. This antenna is the same design used on the Alpha TT 10 and 15. We have really been pleased with these antennas, and they are very tough -- especially compared to the old designs on the DC 30 and DC 40.

Additional Long Range Collar Antenna

Also included in the T5 package is a 22 1/2" Long Range Collar antenna. This longer antenna provides additional range compared to the standard 18 1/2" antenna. The Long Range Collar Antenna is perfect for big running hounds.

Feed-through Collar Strap Design

The T5 collar strap is a feed through / collar belt loop style unit just like most e-collars on the market today. It does not require screws or a plate to attach the collar to the unit.

Coated Nylon "Glo" Collar Strap

Just like the DC 50, the T5 uses a 1-inch wide plastic coated "Glo" collar strap that is popular with most hunters and Field Trial dog owners. These straps hold up better than regular nylon or leather collars and come in 10 different colors so you can keep up with your different dogs. Choose an Orange, Black, Blue, Green, Red, Yellow, White, Silver, Pink, or Violet collar strap. Fits neck sizes between 13-inches and 22-inches and features a solid K-9 metal collar buckle with metal keeper.

USB Port on Collar

Built-in USB Port allows easy software updates -- just plug your collar into your computer. Also can be used to export additional GPS dog data directly from your collar to your computer.

Astro / Alpha / PRO 550+ Cross-Compatibility

The T5 is compatible with both the Astro 430 and 320, Alpha 100, and PRO 550+ handhelds (tracking function only with Alpha and PRO 550+). This now lets Alpha and PRO 550+ users who need a system they can use in competitions legally run T5 tracking collars. Also, folks that buy the Astro 430 with T5 collars can continue to use the T5 collars in the future if they ever switch over to the Alpha or PRO 550+ handheld.

Rescue Mode

When the battery on a tracking collar dies, finding a missing a dog gets a lot more difficult. When the collar battery drops to 25% life, RESCUE MODE changes the update rate to a 2-minute ping to extend battery life which gives you the maximum amount of hours to find a lost dog. Rescue mode is not the default setting. You have to turn it on under SETTINGS. I can't think of a good reason NOT to run your collar in rescue mode because there's no downside to using it.

Live Laptop Tracking with BaseStation: Track Your Dogs on a Bigger Screen

Using BaseStation, you can take your handheld while you're tracking dogs and plug it into your computer, letting you view your dogs on your laptop's screen. HOW TO: First download Garmin's Base Station Software. Then plug your handheld into your computer's USB port to see the Tracking screen on your computer. We've got guys that are working out of vehicles and they are tired of looking at a small screen all the time. They want to set up a computer in their vehicle and be able to view the tracking. You still use a handheld to track, but view your dogs on your laptop screen instead of a small handheld. Garmin says it'll track on the computer "real-time," but it's the same update rate that you have on your system -- 2.5, 5, 10, 30, or 120 seconds between updates.

  • Garmin ASTRO T5 Add-On Collar

The Garmin T5 tracking collar replaces the DC 50 and adds a few features to help you keep up with your dog:

  • LED Beacon Lights for added visibility in low-light conditions

Like the Garmin ALPHA, the T5 now has beacon lights that help you see your dog while he is running at night. These lights also help other folks and oncoming traffic see your dog.

Please note that these lights must be turned on while the T5 collar is close to the handheld.

The Astro 430 and 320 can NOT turn the Astro T5 collar lights on at any distance away from the hand held.

  • Track Astro T5 and DC series collars PLUS ALPHA TT15 Collars

The Astro T5 and Alpha TT 15 collars have the ability to be tracked by either the Astro 430 and 320 handhelds, or the Alpha 100 and PRO 550+ handhelds.

Please note that these collars can NOT be tracked by Astro 320 and Alpha handhelds at the same time. They CAN be simultaneously tracked by Astro 430, Alpha, and PRO 550+ handhelds.

  • Orange Top Mounted GPS Receiver

To make it easy to tell which collar you are running (T5 vs. TT15), the T5 has an orange top mounted GPS receiver. The TT15, TT10 and the DC 50 all have black GPS receivers.

    PRO’s of the T 5 Collar

    • • During our time in the field this collar proved to be dependable and reliable.
    • • Peace of mind knowing the T 5 collar is tracking with GLONASS.
    • • Having a collar that can be tracked on my Alpha 100 without stimulation prongs that can, and have, created irritation to at least one of our smaller sized dog’s neck while hunting in heavy brush.
    • • Rescue battery life with rescue mode allows me to focus on what matters, my dog not how much battery life I have left on my collar.

    CON’S of the T 5 Collar:

    • • @ 249.99 The T 5 collar price is higher than it’s predecessor.
    • • The T 5 was designed with Competition Hunters needs in mind, which means there are some features that are disabled that a Pleasure hunter would appreciate. For example the T 5 does not have Bark Detection.
    • • The battery life on the T 5 is slightly lower than the DC 50.

    Garmin T 5 Collar Features:

    • • Rescue Mode initiates a battery conservation mode after reaching 25% of the batteries remaining charge

    • • Collar tracks additional satellites known as GLONASS (Russian GPS satellites)

    • • Earlier Astro 320 handhelds need to be updated before they can be used to track the T 5. (The T 5 WILL NOT track on a Astro 220) For instructions on how to update your Astro, visit our How-To Section
    • • When paired with the Alpha 100, the T 5 can be used to control your VIRB action camera from long distances. (Garmin Virb Sold Seperatly)
    • • LED beacon lights
    • • Same great reliable tracking features, GLONASS, top mount GPS, Rescue Mode
    • • No Bark Detection or Training Features with the T 5 to comply with competition rules

NOTE: The T 5 tracking collar was designed with competition rules in mind.

Key Features of the Garmin Astro / Alpha T 5 Tracking GPS Collar

GLONASS GPS for T5Reliable GPS Dog Tracking:

It is now less likely for your collar to lose satellite reception while hunting in heavy cover or deep canyons due to the highly sensitive top mounted GPS module that now tracks with GLONASS. With GLONASS your collar is able to receive signals from a total of 49 earth orbiting satellites. That’s 21 more satellites than the TT10.

Rescue Mode Garmin T5Same Great Rescue Mode:

This feature, if enabled by either your Alpha 100 or Astro 320, increases the amount of time you have before a collar battery dies. This allows more time for you to find and recover your treasured dog. As soon as the collar detects its battery has decreased to 25% of its full charge, it automatically begins to conserve its battery by changing the update rate from its preset setting to a 2 minute update. Remember, this feature must be enabled manually by the user with either the Alpha 100 or the Astro 320 handheld.

Garmin T5 Braided AntennaSame Upgraded VHF Style Antenna as the DC50:

There are two antenna choices to choose from for the Garmin T 5. They are the 22.5” or 18.5”. The length and flexibility of this VHF antenna with braided steel core increases range and durability. Both are included in the purchase of a T 5 from Double U Hunting Supply.

    Quick Change Collar Strap:

The Garmin T5 uses the same collar strap design as the Garmin Alpha TT10, and Astro DC50 collars. It is quick and easy to switch out collar straps with no tools needed.  Just slide your favorite colored collar straps through the integral channels on the Garmin T5. All universal 1 inch D-ring collar straps or even the TriTronics EXP straps can be put on your GPS dog tracking collar in seconds. We have also put a training unit like the TriTronics EXP on the same strap as the T 5 with ease. This eliminates excessive collars on your dog.

    Changed Charging Port:

Garmin changed the charging port to the 5 connection points similar to the TT 10 and TT 15 collars. By using a standard USB interface, it allows 3 different ways to charge the collar: an AC outlet, a 12 volt vehicle chargeGarmin T5 Connectors port, or the Garmin T5 Charging ClipUSB port on a computer. The ability to plug it right into a computer makes it convenient when your T 5 needs a software update. All that’s required for an update is to attach the charging clip to the T5, plug the T5 into a computer and run Garmin Web Updater. It’s really that easy.

T 5 has a Helpful Pairing Tone Indicator:

An appreciated difference from previous collars is that a tone will sound when adding a collar to your handheld. This confirms you’ve added the correct collar when there are other collars close by. For most of the settings on your T 5 the handheld will tone when the setting has successfully been changed. For example: when you change dog type to “treeing dog” your T 5 will beep to let you know you have successful completed the task.

Garmin T5 Pin Lock FeaturePrivate PIN Lock:

While linked to an Astro 320 users can choose a 4 digit code for each T 5 tracking collar. This code must be entered before someone else can track that T 5 collar. It may not seem crucial during a normal day to day hunt but could prove priceless while competition hunting, hunting with or around large hunting groups or in the presence of someone with ill intent. When linked to the Alpha 100 it utilizes the same track and train code feature as the TT10.

    Variable Dog Types:

With the Garmin T 5 you can select the type of hunting dog each of your dogs wearing an Astro / Alpha T 5, are. This allows you to receive information from your T 5 collar that your dog is idle, therefore indicating that your dog is either pointing or treeing depending on what type of dog you chose. Your options are 1) Pointing, 2) Treeing, 3) Auto, and 4) None.

Smarter Power Button Placement:Garmin T5 Power Button

The location of the power button is very important. We often see DC30s and DC40s with the rubber cover that seals the power button worn or ripped. This makes it very easy for moisture to make its way inside the case causing damage that sometimes cannot be repaired. The Astro T 5 power button is located on the bottom of the collar box which protects from this everyday wear and tear as well as prevents the collar from being accidently turned off when struck by something in the field.

    Protective Antenna Sleeve:

The Garmin Astro T5’s antenna sleeve protects your antenna from wear and tear but also keeps it erect and receiving satellite signals. This thick rubber sleeve will have you saying good-bye to zip ties and electrical tape and hello to an easy to clean, durable antenna that stays upright without all the trouble.

    Mix and Match
    • • When the T 5 is linked to the Garmin Astro 320 you can track up to 10 Astro tracking collars including; the Garmin T 5, DC30, DC40 or the DC50s combined.
    • • When the T 5 is paired with the Garmin Alpha 100 you can track up to 20 Alpha collars including the Garmin T 5, Garmin TT15, Garmin TT10s combined.

    Garmin T5 Collar on Dog

Comparing the Garmin Astro T 5 to the Garmin Astro DC30, DC40

Why Upgrade from a DC 30 or DC 40?

Read our full review comparing the T 5 to the DC 50

There are a couple major reasons why you would want to upgrade to the Garmin T 5. First is the greatly improved satellite reception you’ll enjoy: one of the most significant improvements in the Garmin T 5 Dog collar is the top-mounted GPS receiver and antenna, which assure quicker satellite acquisition and more consistent satellite connections when your dogs are in heavy cover or deep canyons. In addition, Garmin has enabled the GLONASS system of satellites for your new GPS tracking collar. With an updated Astro 320 you’ll have 21 more satellites available to help pinpoint your location as well as your dogs.

Thanks to Rescue Mode, a great new feature with the T 5, you’ll also enjoy the “peace of mind” knowing you have longer battery life than with the DC30 or DC40 dog tracking collars. Rescue Mode was first introduced in 2012 on Garmin’s top-line Alpha TT10 collars. Basically, it slows the collar update rate from once every 5, 10, or 30 seconds to once every 2 minutes to conserve battery life after your T 5 battery has diminished to 25% of its full capacity. Having extra time could be critical when attempting to recover a wayward hound.

Another critical improvement in the T 5 over the DC40 dog tracking collar is the longer braided steel antenna. The design and construction of this VHF long-range antenna provides up to 30% more tracking range than you get with the DC40. The T 5 antenna is also much more durable and less prone to damage than the copper-wound stubby antennas on the DC40 and DC30 GPS tracking collars.

Lastly, some of the finer performance details that separate the T 5 from its predecessors include its versatile, user-friendly charging system and beep-tones that confirm when you add collars or change settings on the T 5 Garmin tracking collar.

Details & Specs of the Alpha / Astro T 5 Collar

    • • Top-mounted, high sensitivity, GLONASS-enabled satellite receiver
    • • Rescue Mode extends battery life up to 40 hours.
    • • 22.5” braided-steel antenna, with 18.5” antenna included as an option
    • • User-configurable Rescue Mode to extend battery life
    • • Updates dog positions every 5, 10, 30, or 120 seconds in Astro Mode
    • • Updates dog positions every 2.5,5,10,30,120 seconds in Alpha Mode
    • • Easy-to-replace 27”x1” collar strap (no tools needed)
    • • Extreme waterproofing (up to 10 meters, or ~33 feet)
    • • Rechargeable, replaceable Lithium Ion Battery

    Battery and Battery Life

With rescue mode on, the T 5 tracking collar has approximately a 40 hour battery life. Here’s how:

    • • 10 second update rate means around 27 hours (before battery reaches 25%)
    • • When the battery reaches 25%, rescue mode changes the update rate to 2 minutes
    • • 2 minute update rate means about 16 additional hours
    • • Total: approximately 43 hours

Secure Dog Tracking Option for the Garmin T 5 Track Collar / PIN Locks

There are times you might not want other people in the field to track your dogs.

Astro Mode Pin Lock FeatureGarmin Astro Mode with T5:

When used with the Astro 320 you can utilize the PIN Lock. With it, you keep others from seeing your dog on their handheld. How it works is you assign a 4 digit code to each dog’s Garmin GPS tracking collar. In order for someone else to view your dog, they must first enter that dog’s code. If your hunting partner wants to track one of your dogs you can simply give them the code.

Garmin Alpha Mode with the T 5:

TRACK CODE: When used with the Alpha 100 the T 5 Tracking collar automatically utilizes the 6 digit built in track code. When you want to allow your buddy to track your dog you can give them the track code and they will only be able to track your dog wearing the T 5 dog tracking collar.

TRAIN CODE: The Alpha system utilizes a Track and a Train code which is used with the TT style Track and Train collars. Because the Garmin T 5 does not have the same training functions as the track and train collar models, the code allows another handheld to make changes on the T 5 such as update rate, ID numbers and the LED light function. Caution should be used when giving security PIN numbers, or track and train numbers to others.

Handheld Tracking System for Sporting Dogs
Track up to 20 dogs¹ at a time, with ranges up to 9 miles using a Garmin T 5 collar device or up to 4 miles with T 5 mini collar device
2.5-second update rate provides faster location tracking when dogs are on the run
GPS/GLONASS reception enables better satellite tracking in challenging environments than GPS alone
Comes with preloaded TOPO U.S 100K mapping and a free 1-year BirdsEye Satellite Imagery subscription; compatible with Garmin HuntView cards
Hunt Metrics data helps analyze your dogs’ hunting patterns and behaviors; view distance traveled, time afield and more

With faster 2.5-second location updates and the capacity to follow up to 20 dogs¹, Astro 430 is a handheld powerhouse of dog-tracking performance. Intuitive and easy to use, the Astro 430 handheld features a vibrant 2.6-inch color display, preloaded TOPO U.S. 100K mapping, an optional in-unit rechargeable battery and Hunt Metrics data to help analyze your dogs’ tracking habits in the field, so you can know how to train more effectively.

    Follow Your Dog's Every Move
Using the Garmin T 5 or T 5 mini collar devices² (sold separately) to transmit each dog’s location as often as every 2.5 seconds, Astro 430 is quick to pinpoint the track they’re following — even when they’re on the run. On the Astro’s bright, crisp display, you can see your dog’s current location and a trail of where he’s been. You also can switch over to the Dog Track page to view a compass pointing to your dog’s location. For help in keeping the big picture in sight when tracking multiple dogs, it’s easy to auto zoom the map page, so all dogs can be seen on the display at any time. Dogs that are too far away to fit on the map’s current zoom scale can be notated on the display’s margin in the direction of the dog’s location. To reduce visual clutter on the map, you can toggle between “show all,” “show some” and “show none” — selecting the duration that each dog’s track is viewable on the display. You can also share a dog’s track code so another person can view your dog’s location on their unit’s map, along with the dog tracking compass. Further, by sharing a dog’s control code, you can allow another person to configure and control your dog’s on-collar device.

See More Detail with Additional Mapping
Astro 430 features a microSD™ card slot that allows you to load even more mapping options, such as TOPO U.S. 24K and HuntView maps (sold separately). You also can opt for City Navigator® NT map data that gives you turn-by-turn driving directions on roads. In addition, Astro 430 supports BirdsEye Satellite Imagery (free 1-year subscription included) so you can download satellite images to your device and integrate them with your maps. The Astro’s mapping depicts important nearby geographical features and enables you to see if your dog has crossed a creek or is nearing a dangerous roadway.

Astro 430 is also compatible with Garmin Custom Maps, free software that transforms paper and electronic maps into downloadable maps for your device.

    Track with Hunt Metrics Data
Sophisticated Hunt Metrics help monitor your dog’s hunting patterns and behaviors to optimize your training opportunities. You can see your dog's times, distances traveled and overall scores. Plus, the Astro 430 will also capture the number of times during the hunt when an “on point” or “treed” event was indicated.

    Count Your Coveys
After you’ve tracked down your quarry, mark the exact spot with Astro’s Covey Counter™, a special waypoint that shows the exact location, time of day and elevation where you found your prey as well as the number of birds you flushed and took from that location. Astro lets you save other special waypoints, such as “Truck” and “Lodge,” so you can easily find your way back to these locations at the end of the hunt. Astro also offers special waypoint icons to represent food plots, tree stands and other hunting-related points.

    Make Every Outing Count
Plan for a more productive hunting trip with BaseCamp™ software, which lets you view and organize maps, waypoints, routes and tracks. This free trip-planning software even allows you to create Garmin Adventures that you can share with friends, family or fellow dog trackers. BaseCamp displays topographic map data in 2-D or 3-D on your computer screen, including contour lines and elevation profiles. It also can transfer an unlimited amount of satellite images to your device when paired with your Astro’s free 1-year BirdsEye Satellite Imagery subscription.

    Share Wirelessly
With an expanded ecosystem of wireless connectivity options, Astro 430 can support unit-to-unit data transfer with a variety of compatible Garmin devices. For example, the outdoor Garmin DriveTrack™ 70 GPS navigator can receive and display dog positions on its moving map — with TOPO or satellite image views — showing navigation cues to your dog’s current location. Likewise, fenix® 3 GPS watches can receive dog status updates and alerts for viewing at a glance on your wrist. Also, while you’re in the field, Astro 430 lets you link and share wirelessly with your buddies’ compatible devices, such as the Oregon® handheld, Montana® handheld, GPSMAP® 64 chartplotter or other ANT+® enabled devices, to help coordinate hunt logistics on the go.

Turn Your Computer Into a BaseStation for Tracking Dogs
Load your laptop with BaseStation software to turn it into a field control center for tracking multiple dogs (equipped with T 5 or T 5 mini dog devices²). View real-time GPS information on the larger display of your computer, making it ideal for canine search and rescue teams. And because it’s GPS/GLONASS capable, you'll get tracking, even where Internet and cell phone service isn’t available.

    Tough, Water-resistant, Long-lasting
Like all Garmin outdoor products, Astro 430 is designed to be effective, easy to use, reliable and rugged enough to withstand all the blows, bumps and sloppy conditions of training and hunting. The handheld unit is water-resistant to IPX7, and it can be powered with standard AA batteries — or it’s optionally available with a long-lasting NiMH battery pack that’s rechargeable in the unit. What’s more, if you ever drop or misplace your Astro 430 in the field, the high-visibility orange case makes it easy to track down.

¹Additional dog devices required; sold separately
²Astro 430 is also compatible with TT™ 15, TT™ 15 mini and DC™ 50 dog devices (for tracking only). DC 50 requires a software update.

Garmin T5 Additional GPS Dog Tracking Collar

    Product Description

    Astro T5 Collar Hardware Features:

Beacon Lights Integrated Beacon Lights give your dog added visibility in low-light conditions.

Orange Top Mounted High-Sensitivity GPS/GLONASS Receiver The T5 features an orange GPS/GLONASS receiver to make it easy to differentiate T5 collars from other models. The GPS/GLONASS receiver antenna is on top of the dog's neck like on the old DC-30 but without the horrible nylon collar strap. Get better, faster GPS tracking with increased sensitivity.

Quick-Charge Li-ion Batteries The T5 collar features a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that gives a 24-48 hour run time depending on selected update rate. Charge time is 4 hours. The built-in battery life indicator lets you know when you need to recharge your collar.

Waterproof The T5 Astro GPS Collar is waterproof to 1 ATM (10 meters)

    Collar Battery Run Time Chart:

◦25 hours with 5 second update rate ◦35 hours with 10 second update rate ◦40 hours with 30 second update rate ◦52 hours with 120 second update rate It's really tricky to give exact run times on the Garmin Astro T5 because there are so many variables. Collar battery run time is most affected by update rate and whether or not you use the Beacon Lights.

One Piece Charging Cradle The T5 has a charging clip just like the DC 40 and the TT 10, but unlike these two other collars, the clip is part of the cord and not a separate piece. One less thing to lose!

Collar VHF Antenna: Tough Braided-Steel These whip antennas take all the abuse a hunting dog can give it in the rough terrain where you hunt. The T5 comes with a VHF antenna made from BRAIDED STEEL. This antenna is the same design used on the Alpha TT 10 and 15. We have really been pleased with these antennas, and they are very tough -- especially compared to the old designs on the DC 30 and DC 40.

Additional Long Range Collar Antenna Also included in the T5 package is a 22 1/2" Long Range Collar antenna. This longer antenna provides additional range compared to the standard 18 1/2" antenna. The Long Range Collar Antenna is perfect for big running hounds.

Feed-through Collar Strap Design The T5 collar strap is a feed through / collar belt loop style unit just like most e-collars on the market today. It does not require screws or a plate to attach the collar to the unit.

Coated Nylon "Glo" Collar Strap Just like the DC 50, the T5 uses a 1-inch wide plastic coated "Glo" collar strap that is popular with most hunters and Field Trial dog owners.

USB Port on Collar Built-in USB Port allows easy software updates -- just plug your collar into your computer. Also can be used to export additional GPS dog data directly from your collar to your computer.

    Astro T5 Collar Software Features:

Astro / Alpha Cross-Compatibility The T5 is compatible with both the Astro 320 and Alpha 100 handhelds (tracking function only with Alpha). This now lets Alpha users who need a system they can use in competitions legally run T5 tracking collars. Also, folks that buy the Astro 320 with T5 collars can continue to use the T5 collars in the future if they ever switch over to the Alpha handheld.

Rescue Mode When the battery on a tracking collar dies, finding a missing a dog gets a lot more difficult.

Live Laptop Tracking with BaseStation: Track Your Dogs on a Bigger Screen Using BaseStation, you can take your handheld while you're tracking dogs and plug it into your computer, letting you view your dogs on your laptop's screen. Garmin says it'll track on the computer "real-time," but it's the same update rate that you have on your system -- 5, 10, 30, or 120 seconds between updates.

Astro T5 Collar Comes With: 22 1/2" steel braided antenna (installed on collar) 18 1/2" steel braided antenna AC charging adapter Car charging adapter Charging/USB cable with integrated charging clip
